When They See Us! (and Chernobyl)

When They See Us! (and Chernobyl)

I love a good limited series. A show that introduces and wraps up a show in just a few episodes and is, essentially, a very long movie.

I’ve recently watched a couple of extraordinary ones that were recently released and based on true events. Both are getting rave reviews (and rightfully so)! I’m sure you’ve heard of and maybe you’ve even seen both of these already. But just in case you haven’t, I wanted to shed some light on them, especially one in particular…

It's no secret that I'm a big fan and admirer of Reese Witherspoon: entrepreneur, Oscar winning actress, and Emmy award winning producer! Ever since I can remember, I've adored her! From her movies, to the way she carries herself....the fact that she's from the South too (Southern gals gotta stick together!)...and her immense devotion and "putting her money where her mouth is" mentality over the past few years, for creating content and material for women, by women, has truly inspired me...

Inclusion (& First Looks)!

Inclusion (& First Looks)!

I'd love to chat about BLACK PANTHER, A WRINKLE IN TIME, and SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING with you! :)

Coming off of last year when we saw more films with inclusive casts coming out in theaters, I wanted to take a moment to highlight some big tent-pole, blockbuster films that are all about inclusion!

MOVIES: JUNE EDITION!

It's that time again! "Blockbuster season" is in full swing now! However, I'm not extremely anxious to see too much this month (I already saw the one I REALLY wanted to see!), but there are a few movies that I'm looking forward to seeing either this month or soon after (including the one I've seen already and will see again this weekend aka opening weekend :) lol)!

A few movies to watch in JUNE:

  • Wonder Woman*
  • Baby Driver
  • All Eyez on Me
  • The Beguiled

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman
"I will fight for those who cannot fight for themselves..." - Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)

I had the honor of watching the world premiere of Wonder Woman last night in Hollywood (work perks!) at the Hollywood Pantages Theater with Gal Gadot, Robin Wright, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, and other cast members in attendance.

Premieres and opening weekends are always fun, especially for iconic roles! The theaters are always packed with excited fans and there's lots of clapping and hootin' and hollerin' when these iconic characters grace the screen for the first time or when they do something cool in a scene! :) I love being in the room with people who really appreciate it and clap during the credits. :) Last night was no different...

Grey's Spinoff (and Shonda Rhimes)

Grey's Spinoff (and Shonda Rhimes)

Okay y'all, so Grey's Anatomy aka Shonda Rhimes' first hit drama series, is getting another spinoff of sorts.

You remember the first Grey's spinoff Shonda created, Private Practice, which followed Dr. Addison Montgomery aka Dr. McDreamy's ex-wife from Grey's and into her own 'practice' right?! It ran for 6 seasons -- and similar to that one, Shondaland (Shonda Rhimes' production company) is going to start introducing some of the characters in an episode of Grey's Anatomy next season (its 14th season, can you believe that?!) and they will then spinoff into another show.

The new series (which got a straight to series order, because Shonda is the TV Queen y'all lol :)), will center on heroic firefighters and their personal lives. (I believe they tapped their foot in the spinoff in last night's fire consumed season 13 finale. Did you guys catch that finale, btw?!) ABC Entertainment President, Channing Dungey said, "No one can interweave the jeopardy firefighters face in the line of duty with the drama in their personal lives quite like Shonda, and Grey's' signature Seattle setting is the perfect backdrop for this exciting spinoff."

Henrietta Lacks (& Oprah)

Henrietta Lacks (& Oprah)

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks premiered tonight on HBO (it's also on HBO Go & HBO Now as well)!

I had been looking forward to this film ever since I first saw the trailer before an episode of Big Little Lies a few weeks ago! I remember watching it and being engrossed with this story -- and fixated on Oprah Winfrey. I remember thinking, "What a minute........

It's been a couple of weeks since the Big Little Lies finale (if you haven't watched this engrossing series, check out all 7 of the episodes now on HBO)!

I really enjoyed the performances in this series a lot. I feel like everyone was really well cast & my girl Reese💕✨, Nicole✨, Shailene, Zoe, Alexander, & Laura gave some of their best work in this miniseries.
